Yogalicious/Peace
Just did some yoga in my dorm room. I’ve been lazily doing nothing (watching anime) for the last few hours, so I decided to do something active like yoga for a bit. It felt really good and I enjoyed every bit of it. I haven’t done it in so long, and it was good to get back into it like that.
After yoga, I sat and meditated for a bit. It was great. It was not one of those super spiritual meditations, but a very peaceful meditation instead. After meditation, I saw how peaceful and calm the world is. It’s like a sentient being without a care in the world. It just does its own thing.
Lululemon
My sisters and I were wasting time in our mall earlier today, so we hopped in to lululemon for a bit to quench my interest. They had some super nice yoga/running pants, shirts, and jackets, but it is all so expensive. If I have money to spend when I’m older, I will definitely invest in them. The yoga mats were INCREDIBLE, but they were also like $70…
Anyway, this was a reminder to do more yoga.
7am Yoga Class was the BOMBDIGGITY
It was pretty good. It really is a fantastic way to wake up. I was sweating buckets with warrior and triangle and all that jazz. But then it got calmer, so that was nice.
No more yoga for at least a few days :(
Yoga before bed
I think I’m hooked…
Savasana
Definitely one of my favorite poses :P
Shakin it out
At 5:30pm after yesterday’s run, two of my friends and I went to a yoga class at our gym. It was really nice, and we did some newer things. I fricken loved it. It just feels so peaceful, and it was especially nice after the run. I definitely need to develop more upper back/shoulder stuff because of all the poses that are on your arms like plank, tabletop, downward dog, upward dog, etc. We all enjoyed it, and I think they’ll be open to doing it again.
Yoga then meditation!
After classes today, I strolled on over to the gym to do yoga at 4:15. It was soooo nice. We did a couple of new things, and I tried to have good form throughout. It was physically tough as always, but it was fantastic at the same time. I haven’t really been in a setting similar to XC practice for a long time, but that was close to it. It reminded me of strength workouts after practice. The short meditation at the end was also really nice. The teacher was gorgeous also :)
After that, my friend and I went over to a Turning In meeting. Turning In is a club which is secularly spiritual. My friends have been and I know the leader, but I had never been for. The leader, Rob, is one of the nicest guys I have ever met. He is just so kind and loving. Anyway, we started out by going around a circle and saying who we want to give light to. I gave light to my oldest sister because yesterday was her birthday. I also gave it to Chris and Connor because we shared a very special moment the other day.
Then this reggae rasta dude spoke, and he definitely opened my mind. After that, we had a short 10 minute meditation in which I had some colorful images flash in my head. That has never really happened, and it was really cool to just watch them and not try to affect them in any way. It was a fantastic meeting and a wonderful day.
I wish everyone a fantastic rest of the week :)
Love, peace, and kindness
WAKE UP IN THE MORNIN FEELIN LIKE P DIDDY
Kind of not really
I woke up at 6:15 am this morning to go to a 6:45 yoga class at the gym. My roommate was knocked out on Nyquil, so there was no chance I would wake him up. I got up, put on my stuff and Vibrams, and jogged there. It was a nice warm up. When I get to the room, the instructor was like, “Matthew?” I replied, “Haha, only guy?” She nodded. BTW, she was a CUTIE. I will never mind waking up at 6am.
Anyway, yoga was a FANTASTIC start to my day. It was pretty tough, but I love it. For now, it’s kind of for good strength and balance, but it will be more for mental relaxation once I gain the fundamental strength that allows me to easily do basic poses.
After the class, I immediately went for a run. It was cold as BALLS! It had be under 20. I was wearing sock gloves, but my hands were fricken frozen! PLUS my ears were stinging. Eventually I was like, “Fuck this, I’m going back.” So I did, and my hands were NOT FUNCTIONAL.
I had a poptart, a warm-ass shower, and then laid in bed for like 20 minutes. GREAT MORNING
YOGA. WAS. AWESOME!!
I loved it. Me, my sister, and Connor went. It was a beginner’s class, so it was fairly slow and basic, but we did stuff like warrior, sunflower, dog, cobra, plank, side plank, waterfall, mountain, tree, and perhaps some others. I didn’t expect how physically rigorous it would be, but I should have. That didn’t make it any worse though, only better.
I can’t wait to get into it more. The teacher was this pretty cool guy that I recognized from the rock wall before. I talked to him and we exchanged numbers so we could rock climb some time. Wow, that seems like a date and stuff, but it aint, haha. Whatever.
ANYWAY, I will do more yoga in the future for sure.
YOGA TOMORROW!
I have my own mat and everything
I AM EXCITE
I have wanted to do yoga for a long time and finally my time has come.
It’s for beginners and its easy poses and it goes slowly so it will be good.
