My name is Matthew and I love, love, love, love, love running (the verb and the gerund). Everything to do with it, I love. The painful feeling of being drained, the heightened endorphins, the training, the coaching, the racing, and the gear (Short shorts or gtfo). I did XC and track year round for 3 years in H.S., and now I'm just running freely in college. I ran my first ultra (50k) February 2012 and it was FANTASTIC. I'll definitely do more in the future.

I'm also a vegetarian wanting to go vegan eventually.

Besides running, I love oreos, water, movies, reading, hanging out with my friends, chips ahoy, feeling clean, going shirtless around the house, colorful things, etc.

Sluggish

I went for my first legit run since the ultra last Saturday. I started out, and it was like 55˚F and sunny out so it was soooooo NICE! As I got running, I kinda felt a little sluggish. I had my debit with me, so I decided to do a quick stop at a gas station to get some gatorade. I went in, got some lemon lime gatorade and some Reeses cups (minimum debit purchase was $2.00 so I HAD to).

I also saw this awesome guy who is an incredible ultrarunner and is slightly sponsored by this local store. He was driving, so I talked to him a bit at a stoplight. I told him I wanted to do harder training for my next ultra, and he said, “Send me a message!” Then he had to drive off because the light was green. I don’t know the extent to which I should accurately imply, but that sounds AWESOME. I feel like he is gonna give me a training plan or at least give me some pointers. WHAT IF WHAT IF WHAT IF he coaches me and I get to become good over the next couple years and we run together and I get sponsored by the local store!?!?!?! dslfhslkjfhds PLEASE

After that, I felt a lot better. After that, I crossed over campus and headed to Wells Fargo. I needed some money to pay for the climbing competition tomorrow and to payback a friend. After that, I headed back to my dorm to meet with my friend who was gonna take me road biking! (in the next post)
